Sony Ericsson launches 3 smartphones

Mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson launched three new smartphones in the Indian market, priced between Rs16,950 and Rs35,950.

The phones, "Satio", "Aino" and "Yari", will set the trend for the new age smartphones, said Anil Sethi, president of Sony Ericsson Mobile India.

He said the company would focus on the smartphone category for the next two-three years to boost sales.

"Once the 3G spectrum allocation happens, we can roll out more features with better network," Sethi said.

Built on Sony Ericsson's strengths in music, imaging, gaming, applications and content services, the new phones bring alive entertainment on the go for consumers, the company said.

The Satio, priced at Rs 35,950, comes with a 3.5-inch screen and offers a 16:9 widescreen format with 12.1 megapixel camera.

The Aino offers services to access content stored on a PlayStation 3 from anywhere in the world through a Wi-Fi connection.

It also gives remote play access to videos, television shows and photos. The mobile has an eight megapixel camera and is priced at Rs 28,950.

Yari debuts Gesture gaming that enables users to make the moves in front of the screen and play games without even touching the phone. The Phone comes with a five megapixel camera and is priced at Rs 16,950.

Motorola to Launch 20+ Smartphones in 2010

So it appears the Motorola Droid is just the beginning of the company’s rebirth back into mobile phone prosperity, as indicated by a statement by CEO Sanjay Jha during the press announcement of the Droid yesterday.

At first Sanjay mentioned the number of new smartphones would be in “multiple tens”, before clarifying that at least 20 would be released.

This seems to be a rather good indication that Motorola is back on the right track, and is ready to pull some hefty competition on everyone else.

So here’s the thing: given Motorola’s dumping of virtually every OS but Android, we’re wondering how many of these 20+ smartphones will be Android and how many will be WinMo. We know Moto isn’t interested in 6.5 but most likely is waiting for 7 to come out; will it be a 50/50 split between WM7 and Android?

Samsung to Launch Corby Txt and Corby Pro; Corby Coming to India

Remember Corby, the new Samsung range of mobile handsets that will focus on the Social Networking lives of individuals who thrive on Facebook and Twitter. Well Samsung is all set to launch two new phones other than the first Samsung Corby, which was launched sometime back. Samsung Corby came in the first week of September and now the other two Corby's, Corby TXT and Corby Pro are going to be launched soon and will beef up Samsung's Corby portfolio. By the way Samsung Corby will soon be coming to India, I am not sure about these two new introductions. As the name suggests Corby Txt is for the textually active and features a QWERTY keypad with a 2 meg snapper, EDGE, Bluetooth connectivity, no Wi-Fi, 2.2 inch large screen. The Corby Pro is more advanced with Wi-Fi, HSDPA, 3 meg snapper, slide out QWERTY keypad, 2.8 inch big screen. With kits Corby phone portfolio of Social Networking centric phones, Samsung is compating with companies like INQ, who will soon be launching a mass market Twitter mobile phone.

LG launches official site for GW620 Android phone

LG's GW620 handset may be easy to miss among all the other current  Android-based offerings, but it looks like LG is now starting to ramp things up a bit to help it get noticed, with it recently launching (inadvertently, judging from the copy) the official site for phone complete with some fresh new images and promo videos. While there's expectedly not much in the way of new details, LG's ads and promo videos (check one after the break) do seem to position the phone squarely in CLIQ territory, with LG even going so far as to dream up a series of mascots (including a "Social Butterfly") to demo the phone's social networking capabilities.

Launch Of Mobile Phone Cash Comparison Tool

Mobile Phone Recycling has taken on its own household name now as more and more awareness is araised around mobile phones and the damaging impact they have on our environment. Never before has it been so easy to sell and recycle an old mobile phone for cash. By simply using a mobile phone recycling site who pay cash for old or broken mobiles.

You can sell and recycle any old or unwanted mobile phone online to a mobile phone recycling site. These types of sites are set up to handle the recycling of mobile phones and other electrical products. To give people a place and a means to recycle their old mobile phones instead of just throwing them away after being upgraded to a newer model.

There are a quite a few mobile phone recycling sites around now. All of which have their own features and benefits and all pay out different prices for mobile phones. So it can be quite a daunting task when wanting to sell your old mobile phone this way by recycling it. With so many of these mobile phone recycling sites around there is much choice. But all you want to know is how much money you can get for it and which site will pay you the most.

Hence was made the Mobile Phone Cash Comparison Tool. It will compare all the top mobile phone recycling sites so you can get the most money for your mobile. This saves you much time and searching around. All you have to do is put in the make and model of your mobile into the tool and it will find it for you and display a list of mobile phone recyclers so you can compare the prices offered by each. You can then get the most money.

Recycling mobile phones is a phase that is not fizzling out. People up and down the country, the old and young alike are digging out their old mobile phones and selling and recycling them online this way to get cash for an old mobile that might otherwise only probably ended up in a landfill site. It's giving people a chance to raise a little cash when needed which is good in todays climate and is having a helping effect on the environment as well because mobile phones can have a damaging effect on our environment if they are not recycled properly. They contain hazardous materials that can be poisonous to us and animals and can pollute our food and water supply. So that is why more needs to be done to recycle mobile phones. Helping you, other people and the earth at the same time.

American Family Insurance Launches Cell Phone Applications to Expand Customer Self-Service

American Family Insurance is making it much easier for its customers to conduct insurance business using their cell phones.

The company has unveiled new cell phone applications customers can use to file a claim, pay insurance bills, check their accounts and locate the nearest American Family agent.

The new applications are designed for Apple iPhone and Blackberry Storm users. A new, streamlined version of the company’s Web site is also available to all mobile phone users.

“Our customers are doing more from Web-enabled phones and other portable communication devices,” says Bill Simon, American Family Insurance’s digital marketing director. “People rely on mobile technology so they can do business with us from virtually anywhere at any time.”

The new applications and mobile Web site deliver a better user experience on mobile devices with smaller screens and potentially slower Internet connections. By eliminating much of the graphic and multimedia extras, the clean interface quickly links users to business functions.

The iPhone and BlackBerry applications are downloadable programs that allow the user to quickly access commonly used functions of the company’s Internet site. For example, the new applications will allow customers to immediately report a claim from the scene of an accident and even locate nearby vendors that can help repair their vehicle.

The iPhone application is now available for download from the iPhone App Store and amfam.com. The BlackBerry application (for the Storm model only) will soon be available from amfam.com and from the Built for BlackBerry store.

Many mobile phone users access the Internet on a mobile device other than an iPhone or BlackBerry. Like the iPhone and BlackBerry applications, the American Family mobile site will have fewer graphics and multimedia, making it easier for users to navigate it on a small screen. It will be optimized to display the site correctly on any mobile device making the request.

Based in Madison, Wis., American Family Insurance offers auto, homeowners, life, health, commercial and farm/ranch insurance in 19 states. American Family ranks 388th on the Fortune 500 list and is the nation’s third-largest mutual property/casualty insurance company.
